We built Your Vintage Stylist around a simple idea: the most sustainable garment is one that already exists.

Materials & Sourcing

100% of what we sell is secondhand.

Every piece in every bundle is vintage or pre-owned, sourced and hand-selected by an independent stylist. No virgin materials, no new production, no manufacturing footprint tied to a YVS order, ever.

-

Circularity & Waste

Every order extends a garment's life instead of ending it. We don't manufacture demand for new clothing, we redirect it toward what's already in circulation. Each bundle is a piece of vintage that would otherwise sit in a closet, a bin, or a landfill, matched to someone who'll actually wear it.

-

Stylist Network

Our stylists are paid fairly per bundle, not per hour of invisible labor. YVS runs on a network of independent vintage stylists who source, curate, and hand-write notes for every order. Payouts are tiered to bundle size and disclosed to stylists upfront, no ambiguity, no unpaid trial work.

-

Shipping & Packaging

Every order ships in a branded box with tissue paper, a printed card, a sticker, and custom tape. The box, tissue paper, and card are recyclable. The sticker and tape currently are not.

Operations & Technology

We use AI tools to build and run YVS, and we publish an honest estimate of that footprint rather than omit it. Our typical monthly build cycle runs an estimated 0.9 - 3.5 kWh of electricity and 0.3 - 24 liters of water, less than one load of laundry. No AI provider we use publicly discloses exact per-query figures, so we calculate a range using the most rigorous public data available (Google's 2025 environmental methodology disclosure, UC Riverside's AI water footprint research) rather than claim false precision. This is almost certainly smaller than our shipping and logistics footprint, and a fraction of what's avoided by building a business on secondhand clothing instead of new production. We'll update this the moment providers publish verified numbers.
